Georgia United Credit Union Hosts Free Shred Days for Local Community

DULUTH, GA — Georgia United Credit Union is inviting the local community to their free Shred Day events on select Saturdays, from 9 am – 12 pm, starting August 28 through October 9, 2021.

Georgia United is committed to helping the local community safeguard their personal identity and protect themselves from identity theft criminals. Shred Day events offer a safe place to securely destroy personal documents in an environmentally responsible way.

Community participants are encouraged to bring up to three boxes of personal documents – such as old checks, statements and medical information – and Iron Mountain will shred and recycle the documents on site from their mobile destruction truck.

To protect our team members, vendors and participants, these will be contactless, drive through events.

Shred contents should be placed in boxes in the back seat or trunk and free of non-paper items (clips, binders or rubber bands) that may clog the shredder. Team members will take boxes from the vehicle to the shred trucks for recycling.

Events are scheduled on the following Saturdays from 9 am – 12 pm at the following locations:

  • August 28 - Conyers branch, 1381 Milstead Ave., Conyers, GA 30012
  • September 11 - Clarkston branch, 500 N. Indian Creek Dr., Clarkston, GA 30021
  • September 18 - Dalton branch, 605 Calhoun St., Dalton, GA 30720
  • September 25 - Duluth branch, 2270 Satellite Blvd., Duluth, GA 30097
  • October 2 - Academy of Scholars, 5096 Panola Industrial Blvd., Decatur, GA 30035
  • October 9 - Stockbridge branch, 430 Country Club Dr., Stockbridge, GA 30281
