Coronavirus Updates

Updated March 25, 2020 – As we continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on the communities we serve, we are committed to providing you access to your accounts and providing a positive experience. As health concerns grow, we'll keep you posted here with important updates. As always, your money is safe with us and insured by the NCUA up to $250,000 per member-owned account.

Branch & Event Updates

For the health and safety of our members and team members, we have proactively taken preventative measures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our offices and branch locations. By modifying our operations, we can minimize crowds and create an environment that can better accommodate social distancing.

Drive-up & ATM access

We are currently providing drive-up and ATM only services at most of our branch locations. We believe this is the best way for us to continue to provide you services while taking maximum precautions.

The following branches will offer ATM access only:

  • Cartersville
  • GDOT
  • McDonough
  • Twin Towers
If you need assistance, please call 888.493.4328 or find a nearby branch location.

Temporary branch closures

We ask that members in Duluth use the drive-up and ATM at our Satellite Blvd. location during this time as our Sugarloaf branch and ATM is not accessible.

Special access

If you have special needs that require entry into your branch, like access to your safe deposit box, please call your branch to make a special appointment.

Events

As a precaution, we have canceled all events scheduled this March and April including Shred DaysHome Buying Seminars and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance).

Accessing Your Accounts

Use the Georgia United Mobile App and Online Banking to easily access your accounts and manage your finances anytime, anywhere. Easily check balances, deposit a check, make a loan payment, transfer funds and so much more. Enroll in Online Banking and download the Georgia United Mobile App in your App Store or on Google Play.

Keep in mind that you can also make deposits, check balances and withdraw cash at most Georgia United ATM locations.

If you need assistance, we're available to assist you. Please contact us at 888.493.4328.

Avoiding Fraud

Please be aware that fraudsters often try and take advantage of people during times of uncertainty. Georgia United will never solicit you for personal information through phone, email or text. If you believe you are being targeted by a scam, please contact us immediately at 888.493.4328.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) warns individuals to remain vigilant for scams related to COVID-19 and has recommended several precautions on their website.

Financial Assistance

We know that some of our members may be dealing with financial hardships at this time. To help relieve you of some of your financial stresses, we have created multiple emergency loan relief plans.

We will work with our members based on their level of need and hardship to offer the best financial solutions. If you have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and need loan relief, please email loanrelief@gucu.org to learn more about your options.

What We're Doing

The health and safety of our members and team members is our top priority. We are actively taking preventative measures to help mitigate the spread of the virus in our offices and branch locations including:

  • Distributing hand sanitizers in public areas
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces such as the teller line and office desks
  • Encouraging team members to stay home when sick and avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Providing access remotely to select team members if needed
  • Activating a special response team to monitor the situation and prepare for various business contingencies

Staying Healthy

For everyday preventative actions, we encourage you to follow the guidance provided on the CDC website. For additional health and safety information visit https://www.usa.gov/coronavirus.
