Georgia United Credit Union Team Members Make a Difference in Murray County

DALTON, GA – Amid already challenging times due to the coronavirus pandemic, residents in Murray County are now also dealing with the aftermath of devastating storms on April 12. Ready to help their local community, team members at Georgia United Credit Union’s two Dalton branches, located at 605 Calhoun Street and 1412 Chattanooga Avenue, combined efforts to provide relief to their neighbors in need.

Tonja Puryear, branch manager at the Dalton – Calhoun St. branch said, “Team members from both Dalton branches wanted to make a difference and provide relief to those who were impacted by the storms. Kayla Disney, financial services officer, collected monetary donations from our team members at both Dalton branches. With these donations, she and Melissa Hernandez were able to purchase $700 worth of items on the Murray EMA donation request list and deliver the donations at the command center at Bagley Middle School.”

“It’s just what communities do.” That’s what Kayla Disney, financial services officer at the Dalton – Calhoun St. branch, said when asked her what motivated her to rally the troops to help neighbors in Murray County.
