Georgia United Credit Union Bolsters Leadership Team

DULUTH, GA – To help meet the challenges of an ever-changing credit union landscape, Georgia United Credit Union continues to refine its leadership team. Michael Mason has been hired as the organization’s new vice president of consumer lending operations and Sophia Rollins was recently promoted to senior vice president of risk management.

In his role Mason, who has more than 15 years of experience with financial institutions, is responsible for the profitability, growth, performance and overall success of Georgia United’s loan portfolio, loan servicing and loss prevention to achieve the credit union’s strategic goals and objectives. This position reports to Amanda Whitson, Senior Vice President of Consumer Lending.

“Michael is an accomplished team builder who is passionate about forging strong relationships and we’re excited to have him on board,” said Georgia United Chief Lending Officer Stephanie Zuleger. “He is focused on doing what’s right for our members, team members, and the communities we serve.”

Rollins has more than 30 years of banking expertise and joined Georgia United in 2019 as vice president of compliance risk management. In her new role, she is leading the organization in protecting Georgia United members, team members and assets against the various risks that financial institutions face, while also serving as an advisor to team leaders, cross-functional teams and Georgia United’s board of directors. This position reports to Chief Financial Officer Bob Bogart.

“Sophia has been crucial in the design and setup of our compliance, fraud, vendor management and internal auditing processes,” said Bogart. “We look forward to working with Sophia in this new capacity and shaping the future of Georgia United, with the purpose of serving our members and communities.”
