Georgia United Foundation Raises $50,000 for Community Programs at 3rd Annual Tee Up for Charity Fundraiser

Jan 7, 2026

BUFORD, GA (October 5, 2025) - The Georgia United Foundation proudly hosted its 3rd Annual "Tee Up for Charity" fundraiser on October 5 at Topgolf Buford, bringing together team members, business partners and community members for an engaging afternoon of golf and philanthropy.

The fundraiser successfully generated over $50,000 through ticket sales, silent auction bids, and generous contributions from sponsors such as State National Insurance, VISA, Econocheck, and EPIC. Funds raised from the event will directly benefit the Foundation's core community development programs. These include scholarships, financial education initiatives delivered in partnership with Junior Achievement of Georgia and learning environment enhancements through the School Crashers program.

This year's event held special significance as it paid tribute to the credit union's retiring CEO and beloved "Head Coach," Debbie Smith. Smith played a vital role in establishing the Foundation in 2016, and her servant leadership has shaped not only the Foundations mission but also fostered a lasting culture of service and community spirit that will endure beyond her retirement.

Looking Ahead

Following the success of their fall fundraiser, the Georgia United Foundation is already preparing for upcoming initiatives. Later this year, the Foundation will continue its 35th Annual Wish Tree program, which provides holiday gifts for children in foster care or experiencing homelessness. In addition, nominations for the 2026 School Crashers grants will open online by year's end, and scholarship applications for 2026 will be accepted in early 2026. The Foundation remains deeply committed to uplifting children and families across Georgia as it reflects on the achievements of this year's Tee Up for Charity event.
